Sweet readers, Imagine what the Black community would look like today if since 1865, the end of slavery, Blacks had gone all-in on education instead of organized religion. I contend that theres no way Blacks would be last in every good category and 1st in every bad category today if education and racial solidarity had been our focus. As much as we dont want to admit it, organized religion has been a cop out or crutch for Blacks to either accept their circumstances or place the burden of personal transformational change in Gods or the Devils hands...instead of taking personal responsibility for their actions, choices and the consequences thereof. For example, by thinking all things are possible through God...when the truth is all things are possible through hard work and sacrifice. I would love for the next 100 years Blacks would re-calibrate our priorities and place education at the top followed by social, political and economic solidarity and then embrace spirituality without organized religion. Unfortunately it wont happen because Blacks have been so conditioned to place Christianity an unknown at the top of everything we do...I say that weve already seen the results of that paradigm and our circumstances wont change until Blacks start playing by the same rules of their oppressor...which is education and racial solidarity first followed by a healthy helping of spirituality. Lets be honest Christianity or organized religion period hasnt worked for the Black community because it wasnt designed to work for us when it was initially forced upon us by the threat of the whip...thats not a recipe for success in a capitalistic society that rewards personal exceptionalism above all else...so get up off your knees, go all-in on education and think Black First.
