Swiss Duo Desire Nwofor So soon after sealing a season-long loan spell at SC Heerenveen of Holland, another transfer saga has commenced for Super Eagles’ new kid on the block, Uche Nwofor, as he has suddenly come under the radar of the Switzerland top duo of FC Zurich and Young Boys. The report by infoticker.ch indicates that Zurich and Young Boys have popped into the picture at a point in which Nwofor is still battling to find his range at Heerenveen, with speculation now rising that he might as well jump at the option of taking his chances in Switzerland. Since his loan move to Heerenveen just before the close of the summer transfer market, Nwofor has failed to debut with his new club in the Dutch Eredivisie and knows that his place in Nigeria’s World Cup squad would be at risk if he remains in the doldrums at club level. To this end, Nwofor may well jump at speculations linking him with Zurich and Young Boys as a timely massive and expedient lifeline, as both Swiss clubs are reportedly exploring ways to sign him as early as the impending January transfer window. Nwofor has contractual obligations with his parent Dutch club, VV Van Venlo until the summer of 2015, but he has been inactive in Holland for 41 days, with his last appearance coming in his former club’s 3 - 2 win over Helmond Sport on August 23, before they were relegated. As he prepares to join up with the Eagles’ camp in Abuja for training ahead of next weekend’s World Cup final qualification play-off against Ethiopia, the former Rangers International of Enugu striker, who starred for Nigeria at the Colombia 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup, will now aim to return to Holland with something more concrete for the future of his career.
