Sydney Festivals Jazzamatazz features Ali McGregor and her jazz trio: Sam on keys, Brett on bass and Tim on drums and dancers Trent and Julia. The trio were playing as we arrived, so there were already kids up and dancing (the centre of the Aurora Spiegeltent was one big dance floor). Ali gets the audience involved from the start with them singing back, trying some jazz moves and then Ali is down among the kids asking them how to build a house and using their answers to build the music. The dancers spend their time on the dance floor encouraging the kids to dance. This interaction continues throughout and Ali encourages the mums and dads to join in too. This show is a lot of fun and nice to have one suitable for little kids too (2-10 years, with U/2 free): sydneyforkids.au/event.cfm?i=24177.
