Syed Yousufs Son appeals PM to intervene : SRINAGAR, Dec 07: Son of late National Conference (NC) leader has appealed Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to intervene and direct Director General of Police to register murder case against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other accused in the mysterious death of his father, Syed Mohammad Yusuf. Addressing a press conference in Srinagar on Saturday , Syed Talib Hussain son of Haji Syed Yousuf said that Omar Abdullah has always maintained that his father’s death was natural. “Now, he himself asserted during an election rally in Uri that he had handed over Haji Yousuf to then IG Crime and he died in custody”, said Talib. Talib alleged that NC Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah was also involved in the “murder case”. He said that Dr Abdullah is directly involved in the money deal and he maintained silence to save his son. “We are appealing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to direct DGP police to register murder case against Omar Abdullah and his associates. We want reality to come out. For the last three years. The FIR was not lodged against the accused. The State Government on the advise of Chief minister tried to hush up the case and even FIR was not lodged against the accused,” he said. The son of the deceased expressed the hope that Prime Minister will not only direct the DGP to register the case and will also hand over the case to prime investigation agency CBI. The family said that they have already approached Supreme Court against the Chief Minister and his associates and the case has been listed for next hearing on January 5. He also said that there is no dearth of honest and intelligent police officers in Jammu and Kashmir. Some police officers should be entrusted with the job to probe the matter thoroughly. Talib also said that even key witnesses in Haji Yousuf’s case have opened up while the then IG crime Raja Ajaz Ali has also maintained that Haji Yousuf was harassed and tortured at Chief Ministers residence. “We appeal the then IG Crime Branch to come forward and record his statement in the Supreme Court,” he said. The family of Haji Yousuf alleged that Omar Abdullah was saved and shielded by Congress party both at Union and State level. “It was Congress party which save and shielded Omar.
