Syeda Rabbia liaquat final year student NED University of architecture and planning Its general human feeling that he needs to be represented or he needs to be known and to be appreciated ,cultural architecture evokes social responses from people .people can esaly relate with architecture when there is some thing that is symbolically associated with their national cultural identity . its enhances the sense of place the sense of ownership and the sense of identity . 21st century is marked by increasing globalization and the affirimation of singular identity ,that is with the contant tension with the local traditional identity as a reaction the phenomenon of expressing cultural identities in architecture is observed throughout the world Connor Davies Drafter at Capital Construction, University of Oregon I especially like what Syeda mentioned where architecture can reinforce "the sense of place." Not only is individual identity important, but a communal identity -- a community with a personality, a character, a voice of its own -- is something that every town should have yet is being dissipated more and more. Many towns these days (at least in the United States) are all built for the car around parking lots and strip malls! Houses take upon cookie cutter design like a mask pretending to be different! Culture and architecture should be symbiotic just as architecture and the environment should be coherently one. Like what you guys said, in order to bring a personality to design, we absolutely need to be conscious and respectful of the culture while using history and current ideas to find identity again.
