Sylvester McCoy was the last of the BBC Classic Doctors. Like Colin Baker, plagued by lack of support from the powers that be, the stories of his era suffered a lack of prep time, production values slipped further and the public lost interest. On the plus side his chemistry with Sophie Aldred was impressive, and there were some good ideas trying to climb out of the pit. Also encouraging was the support he was getting from a hardcore section of fans, particularly in the USA, and today Sylvester McCoy has a very large following, plus has done a great job in promoting the show as a whole.
