Sympathy is the counterfeit of compassion. Jesus was moved with compassion and every time a miracle happened. Sympathy, on the other hand, agrees with the person that they have a problem but offers no hope, accept maybe heaven. All wrongs will be righted. And that is true. Heaven will be worth all the pain and suffering we encounter on earth. But Jesus example makes it clear that while we are on earth we can have a little of heaven right now. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven is just one scripture Jesus shared to prove He came not only to forgive our sins and take us to heaven but to give us life abundantly while we are on this earth. He proved this over and over again by showing love and compassion for hunting people by meeting their needs. Compassion has Kingdom solutions now, not just when we get to heaven. We need to share this same love and compassion by offering hope to those in need and point them to Jesus, the answer to every need.
