Syriac Orthodox and Assyrians Christians Gather in LA in Solidarity with Christians of Mosul With a worldwide demanded effort under the name “DEMAND FOR ACTION”, are taking place to raise awareness of the ongoing ethnic and religious cleansing of the Iraqi & Syrian Christian communities. A large number of Syriac Orthodox and Assyrians people gathered together in front of the Federal Building, holding banners written against the Christians’ genocide and unhuman actions have taken place in Iraq, to express their solidarity with uprooted Christians in Mosul in particular. The gathering (over a thousand people) was attended by clergy of both Syriac and Assyrians clergy, who addressed the protesters in their speech to stand united against the violence and unhuman acts have done against their brothers and sisters in Iraq by so called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), asking the United States, United Nations, global humane organizations and human rights, to intervene to stop such acts, condemning this crime against humanity. According to some news agencies, 45 Christian Institutions in Mosul Destroyed or Occupied by ISIS. (AINA) Since taking over Mosul on June 10, ISIS, all 45 Christian institutions in Mosul have been destroyed, occupied, converted to mosques, converted to ISIS headquarters or shuttered.
