And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in tither to eat bread. And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of GOD, which passeth by us continually. Let us make a little chamber ... and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in tither. 2 KINGS 4:8-10 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY◦°˚ Your generosity can handle your calamity. In the journey of life and destiny, one of the greatest powers/graces to possess is the power/grace for generosity. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that people of destiny in Scripture were people of generosity. When you examine the lives of some women like the widow of Zarephath, the Shunamite woman, Hannah - the mother of Samuel, the woman that broke the alabaster box, Dorcas, etc., you will know that they were very generous. And when you observe the lives of men like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Job, etc., you will realise that they were generous people. It is confirmed that there can be no great destiny on earth without generosity. Generosity also has been discovered to be the cure for adversity. Looking at the Shunamite woman, what are some of the products of generosity? 1. Through generosity, the anointing located a need that seemed to be no longer on her mind and if it was on her mind, she must have given up hope and it was no longer a prayer request. Generosity is a key that can make the anointing to handle a situation thay you have given up on. 2. Through generosity, the reproach of barrenness was a broken in her life. Your generosity can handle your calamity. Your generosity handles ur insult and shame. I remember preaching in this line sometime ago and some women were told to reach out to orphans. And one lady began to take. baby clothes to a set of twin babies in an orphanage. She later testified to the delivery of identical twins. Generosity broke her reproach. Remember this: Your generosity can handle your calamity. ASSIGNMENT 1. Never take prophetic instructions for granted (Hosea 12:13). 2. Do as the passage says; be generous.
