TACO SALAD TUESDAY IS UNDER WAY at Jakes Bar & Grill, at 137 North Wayne Avenue, in downtown Waynesboro. I decided to give it a try, at lunch today. Its composed of spiced local beef on a bed of lettuce, with tortilla chips, cheese, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream, and if you like: black olives and jalapeno bottle caps. For $7.95, I got a good-sized serving that filled me up, for lunch. I opted-out of the black olives and the sour cream, just because of personal taste. The jalapeno bottle caps have a nice flavor, as lightly breaded and fried slices of jalapeno peppers. I should have asked for more salsa, since the waitress did tell me that I should ask, if I wanted more. Its a good alternative to yet another burger for lunch, and its worth checking out.
