TAKING KIDS OUT OF SCHOOL FOR HOLIDAYS DURING TERM TIME! According to the latest government stats fines for taking kids out of school in term time for holidays have risen umpteen per cent. Now i no longer have kids of school age but i have a grandson and i am very aware of the extortionate prices familys have to pay during school holidays and in my opinion it is just another example of rip of Britain. Do you get a better seat on the plane, no. Do you get a better hotel room, no. do you get anything extra for being ripped of , no. The retort from the holiday companies is well its supply and demand and we work to fluctuating market conditions, humbug you lying twisting bleeders, it costs them no more for the service they provide us, the hotels are booked on contract and paid on a per head basis whatever the season as is their fuel bought months in advance. They do it because past and present governments allow them to do it. Imagine if you went into a national supermarket tonight to do your weekly shop and your bill had quadrupled at the till, you ask for the manager and say, why has my bill quadrupled and he replys didnt you know its the school holidays and during this period we rip you off and boost our already inflated profits by four times more, you would more than likely assault him and rightly so and probably the government wouldnt allow them to carry out such practices (they might like to) but they wouldnt get away with it. In addition to this the way i see it is it is a further attack on the poorest members of society for it prices them out of the holiday market whilst more wealthy people are able to afford to take their kids on holidays during the school breaks. What needs doing is legislation being brought in to stop these racketeers robbing decent folk solely for the reason that it is the school holidays and they are allowed to get away with it.
