TALK OF REAPING WHAT YOU SOW…he said that it all started from some kind of restlessness in his spirit and when he could not bear it anymore, he picked his car keys and decided to head to a part of town he likes to go pray at. Mid way to his destination, he noticed an accident scene, involving a car and its three occupants and on getting close-he discovered that an elderly woman was trapped in that wrecked car. Some efforts from him and others ensured the lady and two others were rescued from the wrecked car. The elderly woman had just buried her husband that weekend and was actually on her way to another part of the country-from where she will go back to her base in Europe. He said that he wanted to leave the accident scene immediately after helping to rescue the survivors but somehow his spirit convinced him to go further by taking the ‘injured’ to a hospital and stay with them-until help come from their people…further discussions with the woman showed that she is actually related to one of his favorite high school teachers. So, through that gesture-he was able to reestablish contact with one of his old teachers-a woman who helped shape his early life. He said that the very next day, he was informed that his wife had been involved in what would have been a fatal accident-had people not got to her early enough and assisted her to get out of a vehicle that summersaulted once before skidding off a high way! The second gist actually happened to a girlfriend on a night she was coming back from work (at Victoria island-Lagos), getting to the third mainland bridge-her car came to a sudden halt and this was around 9pm.She stood there for good one hour as most vehicles were passing her (with speed) .She said that just when she was about breaking down, a man drove towards her, asked what the problem was and offered to tow her vehicle from that third mainland bridge to the Stadium. She said that her relief and gratitude (to the man) were indescribable. She called him the next day to say THANK YOU and was rewarded with an invitation to lunch. On discovering that they have so much in common, a two year courtship ensued and…I was at their wedding last Saturday! I have always believed that the ‘goodness’ we extend to others have a way of coming back to us-especially indirectly. And some of the good gestures we extend to others can also lead us to our destiny (the second story is an example). The next time you come across someone who needs help-please do all within your powers to help. You never can tell what role such gestures will play in your destiny but more importantly…you are helping to make the world a better place and giving humanity hope!!!
