TAMBUWALs HARAKIRI AND POLITICS OF OPPORTUNISM: It is only in Nigeria that things we can only imagine in James Bond movies do actually happens and not only that, but in rapid succession. If not, how can anybody place this Tambuwals drama of today am contesting for the president, the next day am going for my state governorship and just a day after, the clown has change his mind again back to the presidential slot of his new party, the APC? Like the popular columnist and publisher of Ovation magazine, Chief Dele Momodu rightly observed in his todays column(The Pendulum) at the back cover of Thisday, Mr Speaker is been deceived by some desperate power brokers to achieve their selfish desires of causing unnecessary confusion in APC in order to pave an easy way for GEJ bcuz the president fixers are doing all they can to avoid a rematch between their Boss and GMB. Mr Speaker is been made to dance naked in an Open market by this naïve display of a confusionist who doesnt even know what he is suppose to be vying for. Can anybody take this man serious again? What happen to the tactful and meticulous Tambuwal, we used to know? How can Tambuwal allow some undertakers to trade his integrity using a bait (presidential ticket) that most likely look Utopian based objective analysis of current politickings in country. Mr speakers case remind me of Major Al-mustaphas blunder after coming out of his cell at the maximun facility in Kirikiri, where the man mistaken sympathy for popularity and began to make very sensitive political statements. Mustapha, naively thought he can do and undo because of the show of sympathy and solidarity across the entire country, but to his greatest surprise the honeymoon didnt last long, as it immediately turn into hatred mostly from his primary constituency, the North. The people that troop out enmass to welcome him in most of the towns he visited in his political Thank you tour, started raining abuses on him and what really sealed his fate and does incalculable damage to his image is the allegation by OBJ that he is part of GEJ killer squad. Am afraid, if Mr Speaker allow himself to be used by this conscienceless Capos, we will soon start hearing conspiracy theories about how he connived with GEJ to cause confusion in APC just to weaken the chances of GMB. Time will tell, but for now we will keep our fingers cross and enjoy the drama, intrigues, horse trading, schemings and under the table deals that characterise our peculiar brand of Politics.
