#TAS #Flood #Tasmania #CTCorp 3:50 pm Note: This Flood Watch is a heads up for possible future flooding and is NOT a Flood Warning. FINAL FLOOD WATCH FOR ALL EASTERN RIVER BASINS Issued at 3:50 pm EDT on Wednesday 14 January 2015 By the Bureau of Meteorology, Hobart The flood watch for Eastern Tasmania has been finalised. A low pressure system has passed the state and continues to move away slowly. This system has brought locally heavy rainfall to eastern and southeastern parts of the state. Some river rises are continuing in the north east and the Huon catchment with river levels expected to remain below Minor flood levels. River levels should start to ease during Thursday. Localised flooding of small creeks and low lying areas along the east coast and in the south east may continue overnight in locations that have received heavy rainfall. Rainfall totals of up to 20mm have been recorded in the south of the state since 9am. No further significant rainfall is expected during Thursday. FloodSafe advice is available at ses.tas.gov.au Road closure information is available at police.tas.gov.au For emergency assistance call the SES on telephone number 132 500. For life threatening situations, call 000 immediately. Weather Forecast: Showers, gradually easing during the evening. Next Issue: No further flood watches will be issued for this event.
