TASK OF THE DAY: The Break-up Part 2...Over 110 people read yesterdays post, Part 1, in about 2-3 hours....perhaps we have touched a nerve center. Healthy relationships are those in which two whole people choose to commit, otherwise it is simply a matter of time before someone chooses to no longer commit. Some people anticipate a Break-up or even deep down may want it but lack the courage to take the initiative. However, it is not so important about who initiated it, but is it what is best for everyone involved, regardless of feelings? Feelings will get you in trouble...time will tell whether it is really over or if unfinished business is to be settled. Individual and Couples Therapy may be in order, especially if this is a marriage. We all have our own timetable to accept the many truths of life. It is even possible to be friends after a Break-up...but separation is needed to sort of restore ones equilibrium, get your harmony and balance back. Get a hobby, take on a new project...this doesnt mean stuff or shove feelings away. It just means dont wallow in those feelings. Give yourself time, ask for help, if you need it....but allow healing to manifest in your life. And for the that to occur its best to take time alone and grow from the experience. There are growth opportunities in every relationship. Now is the time to be your own bestie! It is not time to put yourself down, or spend precious time bashing the other person. Pray. Be Still. Discern. Listen. Forgive yourself and others. Give to yourself now. Find the love and blessings in each day as you move forward. Joy!
