Fare thee well, Mrs Funmi Timeyin . Retired Chief Magistrate,, Ogun State and a member of the 1984-88 set. And 1988-89 law school set lagos. Your death came to us as a rude shock as no one ever imagined such act of bestiality which culminated in your exit from this sinful world could or should happen to someone like you . And why do we say so ? we say so because despite being one of the most mature students in our set and faculty then, you carried yourself with dignity, you were MADAM, well mannered and good natured. Courteous and always neatly dressed. Always smiling and willing to help . You were unique in everything especially the neat car you drove ( the blue well kept Passat ) and your alan poser sunglasses. Hardly ever raising your voice at anyone and just going about your own thing. You were very focused. And why wont you anyway.. ? you looked at us then as the awon omo kekere that we were and smiled. And little wonder that you immediately joined the ogun state bench as a Magistrate. You then rose to become a Chief magistrate. I look back now at the last time I saw you in your chambers in sagamu, when I had popped in to say hello to you when I had case before another colleague of yours. Again, you offered kind words and advice, urging me to go on and show your colleague the stuff OSU graduates ( lawyers ) were made of. Little did I know that would be the last time I would be seeing you physically. And that was in mid 90s. Well, we can continue to ponder on the meaning of justice and can even seek revenge and most of all wish that all the gory details we read about in the dailies were just a figment of our imagination. But, it is now clear that you have completed your own journey and only God knows why it happened and how it happened and why it should have happened. Most importantly however, we your set mates remember you as a lovely lady, mother, colleague, and judicial officer of repute. We can only give thanks and pray that GOD grants your family the fortitude to bear your loss. May God comfort your family as well and as your body is being committed to mother earth later today in Abeokuta we say Adieu Mrs Timeyin, ma je okun maje ekolo chop whatever dey eat in heaven .
