TBT-Love this man of mine! Paris mens 1983 TAAF team claim Tyler Open Tournament. This is Billy, with his 38 vertical, in the middle, blocking a shot. This was an awesome game. The Tyler team just thought they knew how to play volleyball!!! If memory serves correctly, these guys were playing early morning after having been in the gym for 24 hours. Our womens and coed divisions were finished and now our men were battling for the win/title. This was volleyball at its very best. There is a long story about how I finally talked Billy in to playing volleyball because he thought it was a sissy sport. I always say I fell in love with him the first time I saw him jump.....unbelievable!!!! All these men were/are great athletes with such fierce competitiveness, and I am proud to call them friends!! In the second picture, Billy is a 5 10 senior, always jumping center. (1971)Here he is jumping against a 63 Rivercrest player TG and is about 5 inches above him on the tip. Also around the center line are teammates Ronnie Langley and Jackie Whitley, Wayne Clarkson and Rueben Gray.
