#TBT and a two-fer, cause I missed last weeks. 72 240Z I restored in 95, though you might call it resto-modded. Built the motor with a complete, virginal N.O.S. L28 short block I found at a Nissan dealer (loved the light-blue block paint color, too). Built it as a long-rod 2.8 with high compression, mild Crane cam, but appeared stock with finagled Hitachi SUs. Nissan Comp close-ratio box and R180 diff with ltd slip. Full-on adjustable-perch coil-over suspension, though, with adj Konis and beefy braces. Wheels were 15x8s that I painted and polished the centers, but who can guess the make? Also had a set of BWAs. Then, a few years later, got this E28 M5. Atrocious rear suspension with self-leveling Boge shocks and bedsprings. Replaced all that with progressive-rate Eibachs and Bilsteins. Cured the float. Also, 12 mpg, but what a song it sang. Wish I had the Z back, but not so much on the M5.
