TCMA, Inc. VOLUNTEER REPORT, PART II / ISLAMIC RELIEF DART / DETROIT FLOOD DISASTER: IR-USA-DART Team, lead by an amazing “trio”, W. Derrick Lea (Director of DART), Miriam Soliman (Disaster Assistance Response Coordinator), and Abdullah Shawky (Field DART Supervisor), emerge on the “Detroit, MI Disaster Site”. Nine volunteers (men and women) hailing from the east, west, south (mid-south) and Midwest of the country rallied to the call, “Help, your fellow Human Being needs you” and with heart in hand, and a strong willingness to serve, FisabihAllah the troops came forth to do their best as Islamic Relief DART Volunteer Assessors, so that the victims of the Detroit Flooding (worst flooding in 40 years) could have some much needed financial relief since the tragedy struck their neighbors Aug 11, 2014. Basements of homes and apartment dwellings one right after another reeked with sewage water that had entered into each structure doing that period; many homes had 2 ½ feet high or higher of sewage water that seeped into the walls and concrete of the basement. When we entered into most of the dwellings (especially the financial challenged) you could smell the sewage. And what you could no longer smell as much made you start coughing and itching from the black mold that had started to grow sending “harmful pathogens” in the air. I have two stories that I wish to share with you later this week, but for now I will let the pictures speak for themselves. ***********[STAY TUNE FOR MORE REPORTS TO COME]*******
