TD Santi moves closer to Catanduanes, may make landfall over northern Luzon October 9, 2013 5:56am (GMA NEWS) Tropical Depression Santi maintained its strength and moved closer to Catanduanes province early Wednesday, with state weather forecasters projecting it would make landfall later this week. PAGASA forecaster Glaiza Escullar said over radio dzBB early Wednesday that their forecast models showed Santi making landfall over northern Luzon this Friday night In its 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Santi was estimated at 600 km east of Virac, Catanduanes as of 4 a.m. Santi packed maximum winds of 45 kph and is forecast to move west-northwest at 15 kph, it added. Meanwhile, Escullar also said they were monitoring another cyclone 2,000 km outside the Philippine area of responsibility, which may interact with Santi and cause it to slow down. Wednesday outlook PAGASA said Mimaropa, Bicol region, Visayas and Mindanao will have "cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms." Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening. Meanwhile, light to moderate winds from the north to northwest will prevail over Luzon and blowing from the northwest to southwest over the rest of the country.
