TEACHER AND TEACHING AIDS BY :ULFAT ANJAN WANI Children learn best with the help of teaching Aids.Keeping in view this fact ,the govt. is paying Rs.500 as teachers grant to the teachers every year so that they can prepare teaching aids in different subjects to teach various concepts to children.Many hardworking teachers are really trying their best to illuminate the minds of their students.A teacher has to work like an artist to shape the mind of a child. Nowadays teachers are directed to take the children out of the boring classroom atmosphere into pure nature for clarification of concepts.Nature itself is the best teaching aid.Nature is a storehouse of knowledge as well as the best teacher itself.While observing things in nature ,a child gets an opportunity to learn things easily.He can learn and know what pollution is ?He can easily come to know about the varied types of birds ,plants ,trees ,flowers ,vegetables ,leaves etc.He can know people much closely and know about their behaviours.And many other concepts related to different subjects can be easily understood. A teacher should therefore work hard and try to bring the outside world into the classroom with the help of teaching aids.He can buy some aids from the market and can prepare some aids himself .Such type of aids prove very helpful at early stages upto the middle level.But some aids can help even at higher levels as well. A teachers job ,therefore ,is not only to teach but also to act as an artist to shape the tender minds of his pupils ;He has to be a painter to paint nature on the clean minds of his kids ;and he has to be a god-like figure to guide and direct the tender desires of his students......
