TEAMS WHO ARE NOW DECKED IN SOME PROCESSIONS NATIONWIDE, I HAVE A SURVIVAL REMINDER FOR YOU SHOULD STAMPEDE HAPPEN. MASS CASUALTY INCIDENT HAPPENS WHEN THERE ARE LOTS OF PEOPLE CONVERGING IN ONE PLACE. IT WILL ONLY START WITH A SINGLE INDIVIDUAL TO SHIFT A PEACEFUL CROWD INTO A FRENZY HEAVING MASS. THE UGLY THING WITH LOTS OF PEOPLE IS THAT IT CAN SWELL AND BECOME TIGHT IN SIZE AND DENSITY AND SHIFTS INTO A CRITICAL MASS TO CREATE A STAMPEDE. THIS CRITICAL MASS CAN RELEASE INCREDIBLE ENERGY. IMAGINE 7 PEOPLE PUSHIN IN ONE DIRECTION CAN COME UP WITH 1000 lbs OF FORCE! WHICH CAN BEND RAILINGS, AND CAPSIZE A CAR. IN AN EVENT, YOU CAN DIE BEING TRAMPLED UPON OT EVEN WHEN SQUEEZED WHILE STANDING UP. THE ENERGY OF A MOVING EN MASSE IS REALLY AN EXTREME DANGER. I WANT TO SHARE TO YOU THE RULE OF U IN YOUR EMERGENCY PLANS: 1. U must stay on your feet to avoid being trampled - Bear Grylls 2. U must know EXITS and ALTERNATE EXITS 3. U must stay close to these exits or escape routes if possible 4. U must Conserve energy – don’t push against the crowd and don’t yell or scream. 5. Use sign language to communicate with those around you (point, wave, even use your eyes). 6. Up your hands/arms on your chest (like a boxer) 7. Understand what type of ground you are standing on (slippery floor, grassy, muddy, uneven rugged pavement, etc) 8. Uniformity in moving. Dont stand still in a moving crowd. Dont counteract the pressure. Move with the crowd 9. U should stand up quickly when you slip, trip, or fall. In case you fall, curl up yourself into a fetal position. Never lie on your back or in supine. Do not expose chest/abdomen or spine to insults of being stepped upon 10. U should go away from the wall or static immovable objects like barricades or fences. (you might be impinged or pinned there by the mob in escalating pressure) 11. U should move in diagonal style when trying to go off-course and go in between pockets of people. After you’re pushed forward, like in a wave there’s a lull. In that lull is your chance to move, and the way you move is on a diagonal. There’s always space between people. A couple of steps sideways, another wave surge, then another couple of steps in the next lull. You work your way out that way till you get to the periphery. 12. U ask people to crowd surf you out (like in rock concert, man!) if youre in danger! 13. U must grab hold to keep him/her up if someone extends their hand for help, - Note that an experience crowd tends NOT to panic, they tend to be heroic and compassionate. 9. U must find markers (steeplechase, towers) as to where you want to exit a crowd 10. 11. U may extend arms to a person in front of you as buffer when in fast movement to add to extra balance and not being pushed in the midst. Remember, to survive is to always get away from any force that might injure you or anyone. Get away. Be knowledgeable and Be prepared!
