TEN (10) REASONS WHY YOU MUST SAY NOT BADLUCK EGBERE JONATHIEF NOW & IN 2015 (1) Jonathan’s reforms ineffective, Nigeria kept her 131st overall ranking in ease of doing business in 2013, Kenya 121st, Ethopia 127th. Decrease in foreign reserve, Unneccsary loans. Increase in employed youths- Sources :World Bank Report -Premium Times, October, 2012 (2) Power generation: Dropped 2628 MW from 4,000 MW despite the allocation of N426.53 billion to the sector in 2013 Budget-source :Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo (Punch newspaper, August 11, 2013) .... (3) Corruption massive under Jonathan – US, fuel subsidy, pension fund, etc. Source: US Government (Punch Newspapper, April 23, 2013). (4) Insecurity of lives and properties ,Worst in Nigeria History- Jos killings, Kidnapping, Boko Haram, oil theft, e.t.c (5) Lack of Transparency in government: Over N5 have been stolen since President Jonathan assumed office on May 6, 2010. Tree seedly fraud -N2 B, crude oil theft -N1.2 trillion. “Nigeria has the highest no of fraud in Africa in 2012”-KPMG. -Source :Transparency International (Punch Newsapper), House of Rep. & KPMG report(Audit firm). (6) Increase in Un-empolyment rate & Ecouraging of Ethnic/Religion Militias :payment of billions of Naira to Niger Delta Militia and awarding of Contract to OPC. (7) Decaying Instructures : Bad roads, Hosiptals, among others. (8) Abuse of the Constitution; Granting state pardon to criminals like Alamieyeseigha. (9) Education : Nigerian students have recorded failure in Mathematics and English more than in any other time in the nation’s history, University lectures are still on strike, Polytechnic Lectuure just suspended 3 month old strike. (10) Poor Crisis Management. Clearly, President Jonathan has not delivered on most of the promises he made despite the fact that federally-collectible revenue including foreign exchange earnings have increased substantially under his watch, just as have domestic and foreign borrowings escalated, with little or nothing to show for them. Where have those funds disappeared to? What is there on ground to justify the domestic debt level, now a staggering N6trn? Are these signs that things would be any better? Is it not inherently dangerous for a grossly incompetent administration to devote so much energy and resources to seeking another term when at half-time, it has only multiplied poverty, corruption, unemployment and hopelessness among the majority of Nigerians? Jonathan’s rule, a dismal failure.
