TESTIMONIAL: a few weeks ago i asked around about different on-line book publishing recommendations people might have. and there were good replies. prior to that call-out i had used BLURB for three or so small books and they are really good. but expensive (i think) and there are very few offers from them for varying the prices much. but yes, good. then i found ARTISAN STATE books. thick-ish board-like pages on actual silver photographic paper, beautiful colour and saturation, pages are rigid and the book opens flat... an outstanding presentation book option for pages under about 30 or so (they get a bit bulky over 30+ pages, but still great). and good price range. then i tried VISTA PRINT after seeing it advertised on the net and the tellie. well, lemme tell you, they make a really good book on their standard matte paper. lots of options for size and price, a lot of promotional offers that work really well for bulk purchases.. their reproduction is quite good if you pull the black saturation back about 5% before uploading. they are a tiny bit slower than the others but still they do aim to please, as one email said to me when i reported only 9 of 10 books arriving (an aussie post issue, not vistaprints). no questions, the expressed posted a replacement book in a week. at christmas. anyway, their hard cover books are a real value and dont look like those re-bound books we had in the school libraries as kids. for me they are re-sellable and gift-able. so.. for impressive presentation books i will use Artisan State... cant be beat. and for bulk and archive collections ill go with VistaPrint. and this way i get all my images organised by theme, shoot collections and styles.. much easier than my iPad. just sayin
