TEXARKANA POLICE WANT YOU TO BE INFORMED DURING BAD WEATHER The weather in Texarkana was bad last night but had the potential to have been a lot worse. Luckily, there was only minor damage and, more importantly, no one was hurt. If you have not already done it, we encourage you to sign up for the CodeRED Emergency Notification System. Its a free service to anyone in both cities of Texarkana, Bowie County, and Miller County that will call your phone and send you a text or email in case of an emergency that affects your neighborhood. You can even pick the weather warnings (tornado, flash flood, and/or severe thunderstorm) that you want to receive, and it will only call you if you are in the direct path of the threatening weather. You can register by following the CodeRED link at txkusa.org. Anyone without Internet access can register by calling 903-798-3181. If you have previously registered but your address or phone number since has changed, you can update your information by simply re-registering on the website. Its that easy. When seconds count, you want to be sure that you have all the available information to help save the lives of you and your loved ones.
