IMPORTANT DATES ~BOA trip November 15 thru 16 ~Marching Band Banquet November 18 @ 6:00 ~Bluegrass Fest Saturday, December 7 ~Land of Grant Auditions, December 7 LYNN ~Up-to-date ledger is available upon request at any time, just contact Lynn. If you ever have any questions about items on the ledger email Lynn. ~No one opposed the current ledger. ~Proposed Expenses NOVEMBER Shoe Invoice ($102) Board approved Tri State Circuit (Winterguard) $600 Board approved Gifts for seniors ($155) – more seniors this year, so this may be higher Board approved BOA expenses Board approved Banquet Expenses $250 Board approved Gift allowance ($200) Board approved Hats – approximately $10/hat (for chin straps, chains, grommets) Board approved Instructors $30 per session/ per instructor (Jason replacing Chris) Board approved Pepsi bill approximately $3344 (still waiting for invoice) Board approved Ongoing Directors Discretionary account $100 Ongoing Boosters Discretionary account $100 Tax preparation (Paul Hall will no longer charge for this service, this is his donation to the Boosters) Board approved TOTAL BUDGETED EXPENSES $4281 (plus unknowns) ~Winter Guard expenses will be voted on at December meeting ~It was proposed to make a $100 to West Union as “thank you” for the hats – tabled, to be voted on at next meeting ~It was also proposed to write “thank you” notes to the donors of the monies that covered the band/transportation fees this year. KEVIN ~Looking at getting a tarp for Winter Guard ($538) can be used for many years, repainted to fit current theme ~Looking at getting Sabres ($56.60/each X 9) ~Looking at getting more flag poles $10/each X 16) THESE FEES WILL BE FINALIZED AND VOTED ON AT DECEMBER MEETING ~Auditions for Winter Guard will be Tuesday ~Planning on 6 shows for Winter Guard ~No additional compensation wanted for being Winter Guard coach. ~Winter Guard fees should be under $100 ~Need to get a cart for hauling the tarp ~Spin, Dance, Toss – December 7. Any guard member wishing to participate should do so on their own. TONY UPDATES ~BOA Trip - arrive at school at 6:00 for breakfast; leaving school at 6:45; full schedules will be handed out on Tuesday ~Board approved purchasing performance DVD and Finals DVD from BOA for the director (approximately $250) ~Tony and Rich will check on lights & hats for the Christmas parade PAUL UPDATES ~Sponsorship brochures are available (from Paul & Julie). Please hand them out to all the business you frequent. Sponsors will be listed on banner and next year’s shirt as this year’s deadline has passed. ~Bluegrass festival will be held the first Saturday of each month running October thru May. Volunteers and baked goods needed! Dates are posted on Boosters’ Facebook page (10/5/13, 11/2/13, 12/7/13, 1/4/14, 2/8/14, 3/1/14, 4/12/14). Set up at 5:30, music starts at 7:00. We need at least 4 volunteers for each show. More are always welcome. ~PARENT PARTICIPATION IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THE SUCCESS OF OUR ORGANIZATION. JULIE UPDATES ~Checking on getting bus approval for Winter Guard ~Checking on getting maintenance truck for Winter Guard ~Checking on scheduling gym time for Winter Guard practice ~CHRISTMAS PARADE – schedule given to students on their music sheets. (4:30 arrival/dress, 5:00 line up, 6:00 step off) After the parade the bus will pick the students up at the Church of Christ to return to the school approximately 7:00 ~CHRISTMAS CONCERT – December 17; 6:00 performance time for 6th grade, then 7th/8th grade, jazz band, high school band. There will be a pie/cake auction at the concert. ~May 9 – elementary dance ~Land of Grant auditions December 7 at Williamsburg; rehearsal and performance will be January 10-12 at Western Brown. ~Julie has started signup sheet for solo and ensemble. Any student participating MUST be picked up from school no later than 3:30. Next booster meeting - Thursday, December 5 @ 7 pm
