THAT WAS A NIGHT THAT WAS/THEE MANAGEMENT REVUE Du Bellows - TopicsExpress

THAT WAS A NIGHT THAT WAS/THEE MANAGEMENT REVUE Du Bellows certainly opened my eyes tonight when they played the Unsigned Showcase at the The Hippodrome Casino. In all my years of being a Londoner Ive never set foot in the Hippodrome Casino (and believe me Ive been to most clubs and dives in LANDAHN!).Its so surreal. The underground casino part is named after Lola McGuire,a legendary dancing girl who organised scandalous parties at the venue and then then completely evaporated in 1914,doing a Lucan. It turns out she was a canny entrepreneur who had her beautifully manicured fingers in a lot of Edwardian pies. Upstairs is a fabulous venue which has been transformed into a talent night by GoLoud Promotions Beautifully intimate,it has featured shows by Prince and Stevie Wonder. There was a great backdrop and the Du Bellows logo on a screen. When I got there the band sans Jade (who was frantically making her way from the outer reaches of London) had consumed the free Gourmet Burger and booze provided in the Frank Sinatra suite (complete with name plate) next door to Judy Garland. Jade arrived and immediately got on stage and the band performed an fiery hour show with two encores (the first being my request for Paper Soles). The band are evolving and improving with each show and its a real pleasure to witness this first hand. I would like to take time to thank Go Louder for giving us the opportunity to play. Also all the staff at The Hippodrome Casino for being exceptionally helpful. Check our website,we have more gigs coming…… This song is dedicated to the mysterious Lola who I hope was pleased with our debut at her spiritual home….
