THIS IS DEMOCRACY IN ACTION IN CROSS RIVER STATE. VOTE FOR A SUSTAINABLE WAY OF LIFE NOT FOR ABRAKARA MAGIC CANDIDATE.. Despite a protracted caucus selection and million spent on governors race, we the voters have received little more than vague generalities about candidates understanding of key issues and how to specifically address future problems. We hope that the leadership will call upon an issue oriented campaign that gives the people solid information upon which to make informed decisions on who the remaining candidates are. We need to hear how the aspirant will solve our bad federal road systems,which have been neglected for decade, ongoing budget problems, how they will help create jobs for the millions of unemployed, how they will improve the states schools and how to provide essential services in tough economic times like now . The candidate need to explain to voters their specific plans for lowering massive state deficits, reviving the state economy, lowering unemployment, moving ahead with health care reform and protecting Social Security and health care, social services for vulnerable people like elderly, those with mental health, street children and pensions etc etc. For me, the contests for governor, senators and legislators are too important to be decided by a constant flood of adverts that feature personal attacks and misinformation. We need to see more give and take between the candidates and fewer mindless Facebook adverts and I hope the candidate are up for it. May I take this opportunity to say to all those who will read this write that election is not how much money you get during the excise is how sustainable the candidate elected will make goods his/her policies and implementation how these impact the life of all of us, not a few empowerment here and there. — with Timmy Tom and 18 others.
