THE 2014 SUMMER OF STRUGGLE... we spent an entire summer, begging, pleading, stating the facts and yes some were mad and a little disrespectful while telling the Memphis City Council all of the reasons to honor the 50+ year promised 70% subsidy for retired City of Memphis employees, which the city did NOT pay SS in lieu of these healthcare benefits!!! Not one of the NO votes crossed over!!! NOT ONE!!! They asked us to come down and give them suggestions, but it was not in good faith!!! The brochures were already printed while we were pouring our heats and minds out!!! EXACTLY what we warned them would happen is happening!!! Even the airport employees are planning their escape, so they will have enough time to build 40 quarters of SS before they retire!!!
