THE 4TH EDITION OF THE SCIENCE & POLICY EXCHANGE – FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 27TH Fanny Dupuy would like to invite you to attend The 4th edition of the Science & Policy Exchange which will take place on Friday September 27th, 2013 (8:50AM to 8:30PM). Fanny Dupuy completed her M.Sc degree in Genetics at Université Paris VII (France) and joined GCRC as a Ph.D. student in 2010. She is presently working on identifying the metabolic signature associated with breast cancer progression and metastasis under the joint supervision of Drs. P. Siegel and R. Jones. In September 2012, Fanny joined Science and Policy Exchange (SP&E) as a Director. SP&E is a team of volunteer graduate students and post-doctoral fellows convinced that science and policy must communicate to better serve society. Through a yearly conferences, the SP&E directorship aims to open the dialogue between the politicians implementing policies and the general public affected by these regulations and in particular students as they represent the next generation of scientists, politicians, business leaders and policy makers. This year’s conference will take place at the University Centre of McGill University on September 27th 2013. This year’s panel discussions will focus on the following topics: · The Future of Family Medicine: A new model of care for better health outcomes · Open-Access Journals: Who owns the science? · The PhD Bubble: What is the reality behind the myth? · Drug addiction in Quebec: Do our social, health, and legal policies lead to well-being and safety?
