THE ARROW FUND UPDATE - STEVIE RAY OUR CHRISTMAS MIRACLE STEVIE RAY WENT TO HIS FOSTER HOME WITH ANGIE FENTON AND JASON APPLEGATE YESTERDAY ! Stevie Ray who came to us on December 17th after being found on the side of the road in Daviess County , Kentucky . 7 weeks old and only 7 pounds suffering from a severely fractured skull and abscess of the brain and head . Stevie Ray underwent surgery involving the skull and the brain. This was a leap of faith to even do this surgery . But as many of you might know, that morning we lost Zeke and we lost Clara . Zeke was an Arrow Fund gentle giant with wheels and a huge heart that was adopted and loved by Angie Fenton and Jason Applegate. Zeke inspired so many ... So to say it was sad day would be a huge understatement. So when asked if we wanted to proceed with surgery for Stevie Ray knowing that it was a long shot - we said yes. We knew we had two Arrow Fund Angels that we lost that day and we knew we had to give this innocent baby a chance. So we prayed for a miracle and a miracle we got ! To make this even a more special case . I called Angie and Jason and asked them to foster Stevie Ray. Knowing that Stevie Ray came to The Arrow Fund just hours after Zeke drew his last breath. They knew that we were honoring Zeke when we took a chance with Stevie Ray . Well, Angie and Jason quickly stepped up and said Yes ! Yesterday when we met at Blue Pearl to send Stevie Ray to his foster home with Angie and Jason. I think we all felt Zekes presence and approval.... Very emotional and so wonderful ..... Angie reported to me today that Stevie Ray loved meeting his other foster siblings ! He is playing and acting like any normal pup . Stevie is now about 9 weeks old and weighs 9.6 pounds. He truly is our Christmas Miracle.... A special thank you to Dr. Becca Hodshon ,his surgeon, and the entire surgical team. Great skill and lots of prayers pulled this boy through.... What a blessing. Our cases are so very costly !!!!! Donations are needed , if you are able . Please go to thearrowfund.org to donate or checks may be mailed to The Arrow Fund P.O. Box 1127 Prospect, Kentucky 40059. Thanks to everyone who supports us . Please ask your friends to LIKE The Arrow Fund on facebook and share our posts. We appreciate you all ! Peace~Rebecca~The Arrow Fund~ ************************************************************************** Earlier post on Stevie Ray : Stevie had surgery last night to open an enormous abscess over the right side of his head. He sustained some unknown type of significant trauma many days ago that fractured his skull. He developed an infected abscess that extended into his brain . He had emergency surgery last night to remove the infected tissue and relieve brain pressure. The broken pieces of skull were also removed and the wound was cleaned and bandaged. He did very well under anesthesia and is being kept comfortable with IV pain meds and antibiotics. He received plasma last night and is currently receiving a blood transfusion.
