THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER! The best way to tell you my story is to tell you a little about what my family has been going through for over a year. I am not asking for anything, I just want to share my story and maybe it will help someone else who may be down on their luck. My husband Jimmy was put off work by the doctor over a year ago. He applied for Canada Pension and was denied on October 31. We are in the process of appealing it now. I worked a seasonal job and was laid off in early September. Trying to live on my EI was not enough to support my family. So I applied at Tim Hortons in St. Peters and got the job. I started work on November 19. I figured that now I would have some extra money for Christmas. I had only worked 4 shifts when I slipped and hit my head really hard at work. Now im off for at least 3 weeks. I felt so depressed because now there would be no money for Christmas.The hardest thing I had to do as a mom was tell my children that there would be nothing for Christmas. They are 23 and 17. This is where my Christmas gift begins. When I told my family there was no money for Christmas, my wonderful children both told me that we dont need gifts of money to have a great Christmas. All we need is each other. They said as long as im okay thats all that matters. My mom had a saying That one needs a good smack up side of her head to smarten her up. She really was a smart lady. I took a really good smack on the side of my head. ( lol She always knew what she was talking about.) You see, Christmas really isn`t about gifts or money,Its about LOVE. Being around the ones you love. Even if they are not with you, you can always feel the warmth of their love around you. Our family has been blessed with lots of unconditional Love from our family and friends. We are not perfect maybe even a little dysfunctional and messed up, but nobody is perfect. I love each one with all my heart and soul and they are perfect for me. Our Christmas will be the best one ever knowing that we will be celebrating the true meaning of Christmas together as a family. Thanks to my Husband Jimmy and my kids Samantha and RJ for really opening my eyes and showing me what really counts. So all I want for Christmas is this- I want everyone who reads this to have a Christmas filled with love, family and friends. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND GOD BLESS!!!
