THE BOOK OF NEPHI. THIRD NEPHI. CHAPTER NINETEEN. Ascending to his Father, Jesus left them for a while. The people spread the good news, bearing mile upon swift mile. By morning many thousands had flocked to the Temple square, Where all of the disciples led them in amazing prayer. Nephi had the crowds divided into twelve new groups, So they could be preached to round the corbeled Temple stoops. The twelve disciples prayed for what they really wanted most – The gift and the companionship of blessed Holy Ghost. After being baptized did the heavens send down fire, These mighty men of faith to guide, direct, and to inspire. Angels in their legions came amongst the gaping crowd, And then the Lord appeared again – so everybody bowed. Jesus prayed and had his twelve disciplines follow suit; They did not multiply their words but prayed with faith acute. The Lord smiled on the multitudes, his garments shining white, Shining much more brilliantly than any earthly light. Again the Savior prayed in words no mortal understands, Rejoicing in the people’s yearning to obey commands. In wonder did the Savior note they were more faithful than The Jews back in the Old World – ev’ry woman, child and man. And thus they could view miracles and hear celestial sounds That to the Jews of Israel were strictly out of bounds.
