THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES 2013 SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM REGISTRATION PROCESS ypiusa.org/services/youthsource-education/syep/ SYEP 2013 provides youth 14-21 years old with work experience for 6 weeks during the summer. Youth are paid $8 an hour and work approximately 120 hours. The Hispanic Youth Institute is a summer empowerment program which primarily targets high school students who are from low-income backgrounds and will be the first in their family to graduate from college. Through a series of college, career, mentorship, and motivational workshops, the students are provided the tools, resources, and confidence necessary to pursue a college degree, attain a professional career, and give back to their communities.
