THE CONNEMARA PONY BREEDERS SOCIETY - DID YOU KNOW ! 1.CHARITABLE DONATION - In the year 2000 Our board paid £20,000 to Mr Henry O Toole being the site cost for our new offices . This transaction remained concealed and off balance sheet until my enquiries in 2012 . The Society already had full ownership of these lands since 1966. Without explanation Mr Henry O Toole successfully managed to reverse the Companys title to its property. As Chairman of the Show Committee Mr O Toole redeveloped our Showgrounds at a cost of circa 100,000 euro in capital grant aid BUT yet reserves the right to buy back this ground in the event of disposal for the sum of £1,000. 2. MISSING MEMBERS - Our Company boasts of a membership of 3,500 yet our Financial Statements only account for 2,100 approx. Where has this money disappeared to at 50 euro per member ? 3. UNPAID MEMBERSHIP - Payment after the 31st Jan. is ruled as late payment and deprives you of exercising your right to cast a vote at the AGM . Yet elected members on our Council John Varley ,John Riordan and Moss Joyce are not on the paid up list of members on 31/1/14 and make decisions on your behalf. 4. MASSIVE INCREADE IN STAFF SALARIES 2013 - With the overall contraction in foal numbers how do we explain an increase of 34,000 euro being paid to 4 staff ? Which is an increase of 8,500 euro each. I understand individual staff have confirmed that their pay increases were in the 100s and not in the 1,000s. 5. COST OF PAPER - Printing and Stationery jumped again to 58,500 euro an increase of 11,800 euro. With cost cutting and down sizing in the Irish Economy how do we justify this inflated cost ? 6. THERAPUTIC RIDING - 13,061 euro . Our Company claims to be providing services to disabled children yet we do not have wheelchair accessible toilets for our patrons on Show Day . 7. CURRENT AUDITOR - Quoted fee for his services of 4,200 is doubled with add on consultancies . Who appointed Mr Kenny and why does he accommodate Mr Dermot Power and his circle and totally disregard representations made by other Directors ? Mr Kenny refused to go on record as Taxation agent and failed to make adequate provision for our tax liabilities and legal costs with ongoing Court Cases. It was also worrying to hear Mr Kenny justify the unacceptable practice of cash payments for services without invoices in certain circumstances. 8. ALLEDGED FORGERY - Our company secretary Ms Niamh Philbin informed the Board early this year and to date we have been blocked from making any enquiry or investigation into the matter under the misinformation of DATA PROTECTION ACT as grounds.
