THE CURSED GENERATION We are living in rather troubled times,when the society is speeding downhill along the moral degeneration drive.Things we used to take for granted-like the virtual of innocense among the young people as well as transiting from being a university student to a home maker-are now becoming arare find. Part of the blame goes to the media-there are simply too.many media images that make illicit and intimacy,violence and perversion seem perfectly innicent and harmless. Our children are,therefore,developing a version to what is right and proper from a very tender age.The problem is parents are either too busy with work or dont care how their children are being raised. To aggravate matters,we do not seem to be witnessing enough love from parents and guardians to help our young people navigate the intricate corridors of this wild world;to help know that their choices,decisions and inclinations determine their destiny and some have painful consequences.Many parents are leaving children to stray over boundaries that our forefathers,in their wisdom,had so carefully set for us. The modern inclination is that children shoukd be free to follow their dreams,even without due guidance,especially as oarents are busy pursuing dreams of their own. The worst bit us that many of these parents today actually do need parenting themselves and are so dysfunction,they are the type that should never be allowed to rise my child. The beauty and glory of African culture ad it was then,the wealth and legacy of our forefathers has been left to gather dust,moss and rust as televisions,facebook,twitter.magazine,google and the internet in general educate or rather dictate to the children how to eat,dress.who to date or sleep with.Many of the foreign cultures we are embracing are hallow,they take us nowhere. The transition to a midern world is just very fine but the most critical point of concern is the social implication and cost.-micheal@perception global media
