THE DAILY CUP - 3/9/2013 The Lovely Name Today is the first Sunday in Lent and our Lenten Sermon Series this year is called THE LOVELY NAME. It is based on Psalm 135:3 - O sing praises to His Name for it is lovely and will explore the names of God in the Old Testament and how Jesus fulfilled those names in his life and teaching in the New Testament. The concept of Name in the Bible is huge! The Name of God was so holy that represents God himself, his fullness, his attributes, who He is and what He has done. There is even a ten commandment that warns against use the name of God in a profane or frivilous way. Of course, Jesus is the NAME above every name and at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue shall confess his sovereing Lordship. Today we have the very special privilege of gathering in the name of Jesus. And HELL be there! What an honor!
