THE DANGER OF CONSUMERISM. I see consumerism as an attitude which a person is living to eat without making effort to replacement. It can also be seen as a longer throat.Hausa called it kodeyi. Consumerism can also be a consumer with no emphases on production. A farmer who harvested and stop farming will suffer hunger someday. Our Nigerian society today, from our leaders to common men;we are suffering from consumerism. Our factories,no production. Our refinaries,not functioning. Our politicians are looting, Most of us abondone agriculture. We want to eat everything that others have laboured and we are not thinking about our generation coming. So sad that our leaders used to borrew money from other developed nation and mismanage it. The common man believes that, it is better to give him money than to invest it meaningfully for the growth of society as a whole. We have the privilege to be enjoying the labour of our fathers,brothers, sisters and aunt but not making effort to labour for others. Many people are living to eat and not to live.we are so much in love with Do not think about tomorrow,but tomorrow will take care of itself we should understand that the bible did not say do not make effort. and we should remember that, NO FOOD FOR LAZY MAN . I got the danger from a song most i go an empty handed the writer of this song was not afraid of death but his concern was, what account will he stand before God as his achievement? We should have it at the back of our mind that God is going to judge us not only from what we have done but also what we failed to do. When jesus make it cleared to his disciples about his suffering and death. Peter remonstrate with him; Heaven preserve you lord;he said,this most not happen to you But jesus said Get behind me,satan! To my opinion, peter have been enjoying the mighty works and wanders of jesus christ and so felt that if christ will die,the enjoyment will not continue and jesus understood him and rebucked him immedetly. St paul also encouraged us to make our bodies worthy of sacriface to God. Christ sacriface his life for our salvation.Therefore,we make sacriface today and it will become a legacy for our youngeq generation coming. May God bles us and give us the grace to sacriface.
