THE DAY I WAS BORN On this day September 11, few years ago, in the early hours of Saturday at about 2am, a song on joy filled my Mum, my Dad, my siblings who were earnestly waiting for my arrival. They were so happy when I arrived. But I was not, I was filled with anger and sorrow, that the first thing I did was to start crying, and no one could understand my pain. I looked at my parents and the people around; they were all happy and smiling I was very angry because at that time: I was born in sin; I was made a sojourner in this vale of tears; I was made a pilgrim to this miserable world of sinfulness and deceit; the devil received authority from God to tempt me till the end of my life. I besought God; He smiled at me and encouraged me: “GO AND BE HOLY, JUST AS I AM HOLY”. He assigned an Angel to be my guardian, and He told me to always be in good terms with him (i.e. to always be in the state of grace). After that consolation, I stopped crying, I slept. Today, September 11, 2014, many years has gone by, I am not as yet holy like my Father in heaven; I have not been in good terms with my guardian Angel (i.e. I have not been in the state of grace). “Fast my days of life I run, soon the night of death will come.” Guide me Most Holy Virgin Mary, that at the hour of my death, I may leave this miserable earth with a happy and joyous heart; that I have lived a holy life; that I have died in the state of grace. This I ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.
