THE FASSSST LANE! Pedants commented on my use of the term Fast Lane in my previous post. I know there is no such thing officially as a Fast Lane In New Zealand, but its common usage, so, when in Rome etcerera. Dave Moore called it the overtaking lane, sorry wrong Dave.The precedent was set many years ago by a court case in which a judge decreed that as prescribed by NZ statute each lane on a motorway or a dual carriage highway or roadway is an independent road in its own right, whether its on the outside, the inside or in the middle. This is why it is lawful to undertake in NZ! Yes, I know Dave (and others), its daft, but that was the interpretation and its been accepted.
