THE GAME OF LIFE Life is like the Olympic Games, not like the World Cup. In the Olympics, there are indoor and outdoor sports events, field and track events, with different people from around the world participating in different and many sporting events. Unlike in the World Cup where only a select group of qualified national teams gather to compete in just one sporting activity-football, and in the end, only one team, one champion emerges, as we have Germany as the Winner of Brazil 2014 World Cup challenge; in the Olympics, in the end, many and different champions from different nations of the world emerge. Though it was in relation to the changes going on in the fashion of the era, in the 18th century, precisely in 1785, that William Cowper said that Variety is the spice of life; today, we can see the truth of that statement in relation to life in general. Life is a game for all. It is also a game of choice and not a game of chance. Champions in life do not all compete in one thing. No! Champions choose one area, ONE THING, their STRENGTH Zone, they stay there, they persevere, and they give it their all.I wish that all men were as I am. But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that. 1Corithians 7:7. John Cena is a champion in wrestling; Tiger Woods in golf; Michael Jackson, Don Moen in music; Tom Cruise, Danzel Washington in movies; Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo in football; Less Brown in motivations; Bill Gates in computer; Mark Zuckerberg and others in social media (Facebook); Warren Buffet in investing; Barack Obama in political leadership, Alico Dangote in business; Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, Brian Tracy in personal and professional development; Organo Gold in coffee; CNN, Algazeera, BBC, Channels (Nigeria) in news; William Shakespeare in literature; we can go on counting! But the question is, Are you going to be the champion that you are? If yes, What exactly have you chosen? What is your Strength Zone? There are numerous choices in the game of life, hence, life cannot be about the survival of the fittest, but about SIGNIFICANCE where you are most fitted. Life is about significance where you are fittest, take note. In the words of William Gladstone, a 4-time British Prime Minister, who was in office between 1866 and 1894, He is a wise man who wastes no energy on pursuits for which he is not fitted. He is wiser still, who from among the things he can do well, chooses and resolutely follows the best. Life begins with a decision, and success is always a decision away.
