THE GOSPEL SHOULD BR PREACHED IN ITS ENTIRETY Today in the church, nearly all that is preached is: Christ did it all, so sit back and relax and partake of Gods goodness-dont dare do anything because if you attempt, you will be nullifying the grace that did all things. This prevalent message sounds good to the ears and surely would be the best for a religious Christian striving to save himself through religious doings. However, there are hard questions to ask: For instance, after we have turned to Christ, should we subject ourselves to deliberate purposeful OBEDIENCE or we ought to sit back and surely relax? Do we have a role to play in our new walk with Christ? Its very important that Christians take time to read the Bible on their own to discover the portions of scripture that most preachers have deliberately remained silent on, especially in this time when its had to tell truth from a lies. Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments if righteousness to God. You are not under law but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that ones slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? Rarely will a preacher today remind you to live an obedient responsible life but the preacher will not forget to read for you the LAW in Malachi 3 concerning tithes and offerings. Christians need to receive proper teaching that is critical to them understanding two fundamentals: 1. You dont save yourself and you actually cant do anything to make yourself acceptable before God, therefore, accepting Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord, your Advocate, is necessary to be right with God. 2. After getting saved, you need to purposefully, deliberately submit to obedience to the Lord, just as a slave obeys the master irrespective of whether or not he likes what he is told to do, so should a Christian obey the Lord in all dimensions of life. You dont get saved and remain there; you thereafter live a life on this earth before you go to be with the Lord-this implies that you have to learn to live this life. This life calls for one to recognise that there is a part they should play, and this is what amounts to the responsibility of the Christian in his/her walk with the Lord. What your Lord says you should do as an obedient child; you shouldnt refuse doing it and say that His Grace will cover you. You cant refuse to deliberately do what you ought to do simply because you cant achieve 100% of whatever is expected of you. God knows you too well and if He requires that you now live a life pleasing to Him, He doesnt expect 100% from you; He knows you cant achieve that, but He also knows that you are capable of achieving a certain mark when you employ effort in obedience, trusting that He knows you are doing your best as He helps you. Now that is Gods Grace in your inadequacy and insufficiency. No Grace warrants irresponsible/careless/carefree lives that many Christians especially youth, are living. The bitter truth is that most Christians get saved and are not discipled sufficiently to clearly understand salvation as a responsible walk; rarely are new converts taught how to live their new lives after confession of Christ as their Lord. Most preachers choose what to preach and deliberately remain silent on critical teachings that are critical in the maturity of a Christian. Its high time Christians submitted to proper teachings about the Christian life. Just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanliness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. God bless you all!
