THE GREAT DISILLUSIONMENT AND THE GREAT TRAIN WRECK… The vast majority of those in churches today believe in and are counting heavily on the Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Theyre anxious for the out-of-this-world vacation to luxury accommodations right before all the unpleasantness begins down here. Heres one problem, though — Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and OUR GATHERING TOGETHER TO HIM, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for THAT DAY WILL NOT COME UNLESS the falling away comes FIRST, AND the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 NKJV) According to Daniel 9:27, the Antichrist is not revealed to the world until the MIDDLE of the last seven years, so the rapture cant happen UNTIL AT LEAST THE MIDPOINT. As it turns out, that fact alone could lead to the Great Disillusionment or the falling away. If the church leaders were wrong about Pre-Trib, WHAT ELSE are they wrong about?!? Jesus might well have been speaking toward this time when He said, The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with JOY. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When TROUBLE or PERSECUTION comes because of the word, they quickly FALL AWAY. (Matthew 13:20-21 NIV) That addresses the Great Disillusionment, but what of the Great Train Wreck? If the rapture occurs right after the midpoint or Prewrath, great. But what if were STILL HERE when Satan, through the Antichrist, begins making war with the saints (Daniel 7:21 and Revelation 13:7)? What if were STILL HERE when the Mark of the Beast is unveiled, when no one can buy or sell without the mark (Revelation 13:16-17)? Whether they admit or not, the vast majority of those in churches today believe in some form of Once Saved, ALWAYS Saved. The Great Train Wreck could happen when the Mark of the Beast runs headlong into But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8 NKJV) I mean, if Once Saved, ALWAYS Saved is right, WHAT HARM could it be for a Christian to take the Mark of the Beast? Were COMMANDED to provide for our own, right? Consider Revelation 14:9-13 NIV — A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: If ANYONE worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, THEY, TOO, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. THEY WILL BE tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for ANYONE who receives the mark of its name. THIS CALLS FOR PATIENT ENDURANCE ON THE PART OF THE PEOPLE OF GOD WHO KEEP HIS COMMANDS AND REAMIN FAITHFUL TO JESUS. Then I heard a voice from heaven say, Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” How should Christians prepare today? Packing up, getting ready to go? Or reading up, getting ready to witness — whatever the cost? IT TRULY MATTERS! © Jimmie Douglas [Please feel free to share.]
