THE HACKED CULTURE: The Sony story has many moving parts. Unfortunately, the story was framed in such a way as it became a gossip story about internal Sony memos and Hollywood drama rather than becoming a story about hackers and security. And Sony is obviously playing the victim card here. The challenge with Sonys response is that it sends a very clear message: we will comply. The hackers showed they could commit to a mid-level hack against a company infamous for questionable security and release some documents. THAT, we know they can do. But IMPLYING they could commit atrocities similar to September 11 ... well, we dont know anything about that. Do we want to discover the answer? Would you take your family to theaters to see the movie in defiance? Like I said, lots of moving parts.
