The soundtrack was released commercially, and is now a highly-sought collectors album (LP and EP). Unusually, Acker Bilk was mentioned for his solos in the opening credits - this had only happened twice before when Bernard Herrmann insisted on his pricipal violist, Virginia Majewski being credited for her viola damore solos in On Dangerous Ground (1952), then for Isaac Sterns solos in John Williamss score for Fiddler On The Roof (1964).
