THE HEADLINES THE DRIVER allegedly responsible for the horrific accident that occurred near Hartswater this weekend will face 15 charges of manslaughter after two more victims died in hospital. Twelve people died on impact on the N18 between Hartswater and Taung when an overloaded bakkie allegedly skipped a stop sign and collided with a taxi. Three more people succumbed to their injuries in hospital. The passengers on the back of the bakkie were flung off when the vehicles collided and bodies laid scattered across the road and veld. Four of the passengers who were killed on impact had to be fished out of a nearby canal. A strong current had carried their bodies nearly 500m away.
