THE HERO IN LEVY!!! Many Zambians from the time Levy died upto date, are singing praises about the hero he is said to have been to this nation and Africa as a whole.. May be they are not fully being truthful. It is clear to all of us that indeed Levy did well in terms of economic stability of this nation the time he was at the helm of leadership, the Kwacha was stable and almost competing with the dollar. He managed the Agricultural sector very well, thanks to him for the service. But... truth be told, Levy must not be praised absolutely basing on the tradition of once one dies, they become good people regardless of the atrocities they commited. This is exactly what Zambians are doing with Mwanawasa. (1) DEMOCRACY/MULTI-PARTISM Levy made sure democracy was fought at the same time multi-partism that late Chiluba had left. One may be wondering how is this! Well, may i inform you that it was in Levys time when by-elections were caused delibarately for purposes of silencing other political parties as well as numbers in parliament. It was during this time when we saw rapant by-elections initiated by Levys government, this eventually caused parties like Heritage Party of Miyanda to lose all MPs they had in the house, ZRP too. Where is democracy and multipartism? (2) CORRUPTION Levy was known as a man who aimed and was focused on fighting corruption. My question is, was this real or it was just a fight against Chilubas corruption? Why do i ask such questions? Well, while Levy was taking Chiluba to court both in Zambia and abroad, the DBZ saga was happening, tax payers money was allowed to be borrowed in huge amounts by the friends to Levy through Mr. Finance Minister then, a man who was asumably said to be the prefered succesor. Upto date, this money has not been recovered, who knows, Zambians could have not known about it had it been Levy was still alive. Not only that, Levy created the Max Nkole led Task force of corruption where his personal comrades where the lead lawyers. How much money was recovered from this excercise as compared to how much was put in? George Kunda used to go London almost every month, on tax payers money, what weer the results? We know the answer. MAY LEVYS SOUL REST IN PEACE!!!!!!!!!
