THE IMITATION GAME We had a terrific time last night at the preview screening of “The Imitation Game” – the long-awaited, highly anticipated, Oscar-bound biopic of the life and tragic death of Alan Turing – the man who inspired the Legacy Walk. Many thanks to screenwriter Graham Moore (left) for drawing such an impassioned, complex story from the brilliant (but nearly impenetrable) Andrew Hodges Turing biography “The Enigma”, upon which “The Imitation Game” is based. Thanks also to Windy City Times film critic @RichardKnightJr., president of the Queer Film Society, who worked closely with the Legacy Project to make this wonderful evening happen. Richard went out of his way to make sure the Legacy Project got a couple of shout-outs during the Q&A for having the only memorial to Turing in the world that actually says he was a gay man and what happened to him because of it. The film is beautiful, extraordinarily moving, educational, and powerful. They might as well start engraving Benedict Cumberbatchs name onto that Oscar now...
