THE IMPORTANCE OF A COMPREHENSIVE NON-JUDGEMENTAL ANTENATAL CLASS We believe that a good antenatal class should prepare you for every birth scenario. Most of our girls want to have a natural birth but it doesnt always happen. A caesarean is certainly not the easy option, but in many cases its the only option and we believe that its crucial to prepare women for natural births, assisted deliveries and caesarean section. One of the girls on our March babies course just gave birth. Alongside The Bump Class, shed done a well known antenatal course, primarily to meet other girls in the area. On this course only natural, uncomplicated birth was ever discussed. Thankfully she got all the information from us, which, as you will see below, was invaluable. I just wanted to let you know that my baby was born by C-section yesterday late afternoon after a gruelling 2.5 days of labour! I was devastated to find out Id need a C-section after so many hours of labour, but you were absolutely correct: it is no less magical. In fact I wish Id done it sooner once I found out that my babys head was getting bruised from contractions whilst my cervix wouldnt dilate properly. I mainly wanted to let you know that had I not attended the bump class I would have felt lost, demoralised and very under informed. Of course an emergency C-section was the last thing on my mind seeing as I was booked into the birth centre (!) so I am truly grateful that you gave it the time of day during our classes as it made the experience far less harrowing. Lots of love and a big thank you to you both. We cant tell you how incredible it feels to know how much of a profound difference we can make to peoples birth experiences. So thank you to all the wonderful girls whove chosen The Bump Class end entrusted their antenatal education to us!
