THE IMPORTANT OF TODAY 28th JULY IN HISTORY As history student is will be unforgivable for me not to talk about what make this date a remarkable amd unique one. Today mark the popular WORLD WAR 1. That was fought decades of years ago which many nations that existed then took part. A military conflict from 1914 to 1918 that began as a local European war between Austria - Hungary and serbia . The conflict began on the 28th, July, 1914. The war became a global conflict that involved thirty two nations. Twenty eight of these nations were allies and associated world power which were Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy and the united States who opposed the coalition known as the central power that constitutes Germany, Austria - Hungary, Turkey and Bulgaria. The immediate cause of the war the assassination of Austria - Hungary president Mr Archuke Francis Ferdinand on 28th of June, 1914 at Sarajevo in Bosina, then part of Ausro Hungary empire. The assassination was committed by a Serb nationalist called Gavrilo Princp. As a result the Austria - Hungary invaded Serbia. However, the fundamental causes of the conflict were rooted from deeply in the European history of the previous century, particular in the political and economic policies that prevailed on the continent after 1871, the year that marked the Germany as world power. Friends I will not just let today go without talking about its impact in the world history. Is a pity today that young dudes are not interested in studying history in schools because of its nature of dates and enormous note taking and reading. This because no lazy student can succeed in history as a course. A man that know his root is a man the know his worth and purpose in life. History as a course has really exposed me to some world events that happened before my fore fathers were born, is not a magic to know your past but a logic. Is that no amazing?! friends. I represent the HISTORY AND DIPLOMATIC students of Olabisi Onabanjo University this day and dedicates this article to my immediate course mates like Usman Sani Adamu, Evan Chiobi, Shittu, Rashidat Haruna and Joy Ihenacho, My apprecitation goes to my lecturers like DR.O.O Taiwo, DR (MRS) S.A Lasis. DR (MRs) B. Labiran. DR L.K Alo. DR O.O Balogun. DR S.S Ojo. All the staff. And Prof. Saburi Biobaku the Vice councellor of OLABISI ONABANJO UNIVERSITY AGO IWOYE. Make God give u more strength to expose us to past events.
